My husband and I have been playing some new board games lately, so I thought I would list my favorites. These are not in any real order as that is not how my brain works. I can never find a “favorite.” These are just ten (technically 12) awesome games.
Dominion: a self enclosed card game. Each player starts with an identical deck and then there is a pool of cards which everyone can buy from including the victory point cards. It has a unique card dynamic. In our first game, my husband won 54 to my 53. http://www.riograndegames.com/games.html?id=278
Scrabble: an oldie but a goody. I kick butt in Scrabble.
Rummikub: a tile based Rummy game. This the game where my husband rocks.
Ticket to Ride: You expands the railroads across the country. Days of Wonder makes a bunch of them for different countries and expansions, but we own the USA version.
Settler’s of Catan. This is actually two as we own both the board game and the card game. Both are really fun.
221 B Baker Street: A whodunit. I love Sherlock Holmes!!!
Betrayal at the House on the Hill: …um I guess I like murderous games.
Claustrophbia: Demons versus Mercs. Awesome.
Castle Ravenloft/Wrath of Asherdalon Board Games. Quick Action without the roleplaying. I can’t wait till the Legend of Drizit comes out.
Munchkin: though there has been many versions and expansions, it is the original Munchkin that still holds a place in my heart.
What are some of your favorites?
