New Word! Illeist

Tycho and Rosie only fear getting baths.

Tycho and Rosie only fear getting baths, but they hate it when people talk in the third person …

This won’t a long blog post, but I learned a new word today.

illeist (IL-ee-ist) noun “Someone who refers to oneself in the third person.”

Example:  Eyeing the pink bakery box on the table, Tom said, “Tom likes donuts. Tom also likes coffee.” Then thankfully shoved a cruller in his gaping maw, before the illeist referred to himself in the third person again.

I knew it was an annoying trait, I didn’t know there was a word for it and apparently neither does the spell checker.

Anyone else learned any other awesome words recently?
