Cover Reveal: Roxanne Kade’s Therian: The Bloody Crescent 1

I am happy to have the opportunity to share author Roxanne Kade’s brand new cover for her first novel which is to be rereleased from 48Fourteen.

Cover designed by Melody Pond
All Amberlyn Darksky has ever wanted is to be normal. But what if normal is everything supernatural and legendary?

Amber has never been ordinary. She has a gift, the ability to see memories through simple touch, and for her it’s a curse. Especially when she has to relive her mother’s death the night she was born, through her father’s eyes. Leading a sheltered life for years under his constant watch has her yearning for freedom and her acceptance into Cyprus Falls University gives her just that.

She is immediately plunged into a world of true love, heartache, seduction, and horror. With a deepening affection for Tayelon Cree, whose sparkling hazel eyes leave her breathless, and the undeniable allure of Lucard Colbaine, who seems to be immune to her gift, can she accept what either of them represent in her life? And what about the steely-eyed vampire who invades her dreams? When the blackouts and nightmares begin, Amber fears the pain that rips into her soul and threatens to destroy her. Before long she is faced with the truth of her destiny as well as the devastating secrets that surround the people she holds dearest; dark secrets that will truly change the course of her very existence. Amber doesn’t know if she has the strength to accept the hand fate has dealt her. She will have to fight as hard as possible to remain human while the beasts inside her rage to take over.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

The very first time I knew I wanted to be a writer was in my 5th grade English class but it wasn’t until 15 years later that I’d finally put pen to paper, or more like finger tips to keyboard, and complete my first novel. My journey began in the concrete jungle of Johannesburg, South Africa, where I grew up in a small suburb until at the end of my high school career I moved with my family to an even smaller town on the south coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal. It was here that I spent the next few years trying to find myself until finally settling in the beautiful city of Durban. A place where it’s warm and sunny all year long (most of the time anyway) but even on the odd occasion when a chilly winter’s day creeps in, not even that can dampen the smiles and spirits of the people living here.

I’ve had plenty of odd jobs over the years, from waiting tables to promotional work and even a single day stint as a Can Can dancer but I eventually chose a career in financial administration which has led me to my current job at an international shipping company. It was during this time that I forgot my passion for writing and then, two years ago, when a devastating turn of events left me emotionally wounded, writing became an outlet for all that I was feeling at the time and I rediscovered my true self.

When not writing I can be found at the gym or relaxing with family. I’m not married and my only child is of the four-legged, furry kind. My beautiful Labrador, Blade (yes, named after the famous comic book vampire hunter) brings so much joy to my life. My dream is to be an accomplished full time writer and one day retire to a small lakeside cottage in the mountains.

Cover Reveal: The Light Side of the Moon!

Coming Soon from 48Fourteen in paperback and e-book!

I am pleased to show the cover for The Light Side of the Moon! This stand-alone book focuses on what happened on Earth after the Kiposians came. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to do the cover illustration, while Lyndsay Johnson did the wonderful lettering design.

The Light Side of the Moon Final

Summary:

Due to overpopulation, lack of natural resources, no public education, and a surplus of political bickering, Earth is a cesspool and our solar system’s colonies have failed. Nevertheless, outside our solar system, exploration has thrived.

Encouraged by the conquest of Kipos, idealistic dreamers look beyond Earth to build a utopia from the abandoned Lunar Colony Serenitatis. Industrialists reconstruct the colony, but struggle to turn a profit while encouraging scientific discovery.

Brimming with hope despite intense uncertainty and physical hardship, the impoverished Ella Sethdottier follows rumors of plentiful jobs on the moon. On roads fraught with danger, she discovers Earth is a bigger place than she ever imagined, but Serenitatis is little more than a prison colony. Ella forges unlikely friendships with corrupted androids and the quixotic prison doctor, Ian Whitlatch, who champions equality and rights for inmates. Amid corruption and nobility, tragedy and victory, the fate of the colony hangs precariously in the balance.

What if your destiny lay on the other side of death?

Faye Middleton never believed life would begin with death. She also didn’t believe one could find love after such a tragedy. With one, well aimed bullet to her chest – all of Faye’s well-constructed beliefs are put to the test.

After waking up in an alley covered in her own blood, Faye soon realizes life isn’t always what it seems. Being rescued by a strikingly handsome Hunter named Jaxen, shakes the very morals she had as a mortal, or what she thought would be her morals, if she could only remember who she was and what they were.

Jaxen Gramm never thought true love was an option. Being a Hunter meant he was bound to his Witch…someone completely opposite of Faye. But when he rescues Faye in the alley, she steals his heart with just one look. And after realizing just who she is and her importance to their race’s survival, Jaxen takes her under his wing in hopes to help find her killer.

No side of this war is safe for Faye. Hunted by both good and evil, can Faye learn how to use her newly acquired powers to retrieve the Exanimator before time runs out and Mourdyn, an ancient evil, is released from his cell in the Underground?

Cover Reveal: Other Systems!

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who supported Other Systems. Thank you to any readers and the reviewers who have mentioned the book in the past year. As for the cover specifically, everyone who commented on Facebook and Twitter really helped with the direction/colors of the new cover. Just this idea alone had sixteen versions all with minor changes, so people’s immediate reaction about a cover idea is very useful.

A special thanks to Juanita Samborski at 48Fourteen, Cassy Vaughn and my mother, Sheila Guizzetti who looked over each draft.

Drumroll please….

Here is the new cover for Other Systems. This will be both for the e-book and the print book. Check it out!

Other Systems Cover

Would you go to a planet that has never known war, hunger, or even a single murder?

Without an influx of human DNA, the utopian colony on Kipos has eleven generations before it reaches failure. Earth is over ninety light-years away. Time is short.
On the over-crowded Earth, many see opportunity in Kipos’s need. After medical, intelligence, and physiological testing, Abby and her younger siblings, Jin and Orchid, are offered transportation. Along with 750,000 other strong young immigrants, they leave the safety of their family with the expectation of good jobs and the opportunity for higher education.
While these second-generation colonists travel to the new planet in stasis, the Kiposi, terrified that Earthlings will taint their paradise, pass a series of indenture and adoption laws in order to assimilate the savages.
When Abby wakes up on Kipos, Jin cannot be found. Orchid is ripped from her arms as Abby is sold to a dull-eyed man with a sterilized wife. Indentured to breed, she is drugged and systematically coerced. To survive, Abby learns the differences in culture and language using the only thing that is truly hers on this new world: her analytical mind. Haunted by the agony of her loss, but determined to make a better life for herself, she joins a planetary survey team where she will discover yet another way of life.

There is going to be a SALE from Friday to Sunday. Over the weekend, Other Systems will only be .99 cents for the E-book! If you are considering reading it, nows the time!
